In 1920 started under the name Elvers en Veld, in 1924 Berend Jan van der Weerd joined. A textile factory in Enschede with a focus on terry cloth.

In the 1930s there is a lot of labor unrest in the textile of Twente. This is also the case with us. . . . The company is getting more focus on terry production.
After a major fire shortly after the Second World War, the official company name becomes van der Weerd & Vos. Mr. Vos was father-in-law of Berend Jan van der Weerd's and co-financier of the company. In 1956 the company became an NV (public limited company).
Harry van der Weerd, son of Berend Jan, joins the company.
Berend-Jan van der Weerd has been in the company for 50 years.
Erik van der Weerd joins the board of directors.
It no longer appears to be economically feasible to produce terry articles in the Netherlands. Production in the Netherlands is phased out and transferred to Turkey. The company name is changed to Wevotex. This is followed by a move from the old factory building to an office with warehouse in an industrial area of Enschede.
After a number of years of consistent growth, the company moves to its current premises in the port area in Enschede. The 3,000 m² warehouse with a capacity of 2,500 pallet places offers sufficient growth potential.

In 2018, Zenzi Schutte acquired 50% of the share package and joined the board of directors.
Steady growth has occurred in both the laundry business and the clothing sector.
